Michiel Zuidweg began his career in 2002, designing and installing off-grid and hybrid energy systems in remote locations. By 2012, he had become Chief Operations Officer for a leading photovoltaic EPC in Seattle, where he led a skilled team across sales, estimating, design, engineering, installation, client management, project management, testing/commissioning, O&M, and project closeout for both large commercial and small utility-scale PV projects. His end-to-end oversight ensured that all aspects of commercial and industrial solar projects were executed efficiently and to the highest standards.

By 2019, Michiel had contributed to the installation of over 40% of all solar capacity in the Seattle area, reflecting his deep expertise and leadership in the PV industry. Today, he runs MZ Solar Consulting, a successful firm specializing in microgrid, photovoltaic, and electric vehicle infrastructure design, technical consulting, and project management across Washington state.

Michiel holds a Bachelor’s in Physics from Colorado College and a Master’s in Physics from the University of Washington. He has been NABCEP PV Installation Certified since 2009 and actively volunteers as a technical advisor for non-profits, supporting renewable energy projects that benefit communities locally and abroad.
